Garlic Infused Turnip Greens

Recipe yield: 4 servings

Ingredients & Materials:

  2 cups Frozen chopped Turnip Greens

1 tsp Oil of choice

2 Garlic cloves minced

½ cup chopped onion

Salt to taste

1 large saucepan

1 lid to cover

1 wooden ladle

Cooking Method:                               Prep Time: 10 minutes                                Cooking time: 15-20 minutes

  1. Take 2 cups Frozen Turnip Greens. Defrost or bring to Room Temperature or You can use fresh turnip greens, chop, wash and keep aside.
  2. Next put the sauce pan on the stove, keep the heat on medium. Add 1 tsp oil, next add minced garlic. Sauté it and cook on low-medium heat till it turns light brown and gives out the wonderful garlic aroma.
  3. Add chopped onions and sauté, cover with the lid, reduce heat to medium and let it cook for 3-4 minutes until onions are cooked and turn translucent.
  4. Next check to see if onions are cooked and add the chopped Turnip greens, sauté, add salt to taste and mix well.
  5. Cover the saucepan with the lid, reduce the heat to medium and cook on for 10 mins.
  6. After 10 mins, open the lid, check if Turnip greens are cooked, add couple of tbsps. of water if it starts sticking to the bottom of the pan, gently stir.
  7. You may cook them for additional 2-3 minutes if it still needs to cook well.
  8. Serve hot with Cooked Quinoa or Millets or Khichari.
